An alternative normalization scheme in HMM-based text-dependent speaker verification
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper proposes a normalization scheme for HMM-based text-dependent speaker veri®cation in which the claimed-speaker model score and the background model score are computed for a common alignment made on the speaker-independent model of the password. It is shown that such a normalization preserves some speaker-speci®c information contained in the alignment and makes the normalization score more consistent in emphasizing remarkable parts of the claimed-speaker model. A special training procedure is proposed. Experiments on a large-scale and realistic telephone database are reported. Finally, ®rst experiments about the integration of an information based on alignment in the decision making are presented. All these results show the interest of the method and encourage further investigation on the speaker modeling in such an approach. Ó 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

TELEPHO E-BASED TEXT-DEPE DE T SPEAKER VERIFICATIO In this thesis, we investigate model selection and channel variability issues on telephone-based text-dependent speaker verification applications. Due to the lack of an appropriate database for the task, we collected two multi-channel speaker recognition databases which are referred to as text-dependent variable text (TDVT-D) and textdependent ...
متن کاملModel selection and score normalization for text-dependent single utterance speaker verification
In this paper, we investigate model selection and channel variability issues on a text-dependent single utterance (TDSU) speaker verification application. Due to the lack of an appropriate database for the task, a multichannel speaker recognition database, which consists of multiple recordings of a single Turkish utterance, is collected. The first set of experiments is devoted to model selectio...
متن کاملUser-customized password speaker verification using multiple reference and background models
This paper discusses and optimizes an HMM/GMM based User-Customized Password Speaker Verification (UCP-SV) system. Unlike text-dependent speaker verification, in UCP-SV systems, customers can choose their own passwords with no lexical constraints. The password has to be pronounced a few times during the enrollment step to create a customer dependent model. Although potentially more “user-friend...
متن کاملUnsupervised learning of HMM topology for text-dependent speaker verification
Usually, text-dependent speaker verification can achieve better performance than text-independent system because of the constraint that the enrollment and testing utterance share the same phonetic content. However, the enrollment data for text-dependent system usually is very limited. Expectation Maximization(EM) training of HMM will suffer from noisy estimation because of limited enrollment. A...
متن کاملAdvances on HMM-based text-dependent speaker verification
This paper presents recent development on text-dependent speaker verification technology in EU project PICASSO, which have improved the SV performance significantly. In the project we adopt HMM approach for pattern matching. In the paper we describes four different techniques, adaptive variance flooring, multiple use of enrolment sample, generalised competitive measurement for score normalisati...
